Terms of Service
The terms that apply to our moving, packing, transport and storage services.
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to all moving, packing, transport, vehicle shifting and storage services provided by The Master Packers & Movers, Amrapali Chauraha, Liberty Colony Park, Sarvodaya Nagar, Indira Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh 226016 ("Company", "we", "us"), and to the use of our website themasterpackers.com. By booking a service or using our website, you ("Customer") agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Quotations
All quotations are based on the survey of goods, the distance, access conditions and the moving date shared by the Customer. Quotations are valid for 15 days unless stated otherwise. If the actual volume of goods, access conditions (floor, lift, parking, carrying distance) or addresses differ from those surveyed, the Company may revise the charges, and the Customer will be informed before work starts.
2. Booking and Payment
A booking is confirmed once the Customer accepts the quotation and pays the booking advance, if applicable. The balance is payable as stated in the quotation, usually before unloading at the destination. Payments may be made by cash, UPI or bank transfer. GST is charged as per applicable law. The Company may hold delivery of goods until full payment is received.
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled move are eligible for a refund of the advance, less any costs already incurred. Cancellations within 48 hours may attract a cancellation charge. Rescheduling is subject to availability and may involve a change in price during peak dates.
4. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about goods, addresses and access.
- Arrange society or building permissions, lift bookings and parking where needed.
- Be present, or have an authorised person present, at pickup and delivery.
- Keep cash, jewellery, documents, medicines and other valuables personally.
- Disconnect appliances and defrost refrigerators before the move unless this service is booked.
- Check the inventory list and sign it at pickup and delivery.
5. Prohibited Items
We do not transport inflammable, explosive, corrosive or hazardous materials; filled gas cylinders; fuel; illegal items; live animals; perishable food; or items prohibited by law. The Customer is fully responsible for any consequence of packing or concealing such items among their goods.
6. Packing by Customer
If the Customer packs any cartons themselves, the Company is not responsible for damage to the contents of those cartons unless there is visible external damage to the carton.
7. Transit Insurance and Liability
Transit insurance is optional and available at an additional charge based on the declared value of goods. In case of damage or loss during transit, claims are settled as per the insurance policy terms. Where insurance is not taken, the Company's liability is limited as stated in the quotation and lorry receipt and as per applicable law. The Company is not liable for mechanical or electrical faults in appliances that were not caused by handling, for wear and tear, or for damage to items that were already damaged or poorly made.
8. Claims
Any damage or shortage must be noted on the delivery receipt at the time of unloading and reported in writing to info@themasterpackers.com within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs. Claims reported after this period may not be accepted.
9. Delays
We aim to deliver within the estimated time. However, delays caused by weather, road closures, strikes, traffic restrictions, government action, accidents or other events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure) are not the responsibility of the Company.
10. Storage
Storage charges are billed as agreed in the quotation. If storage charges remain unpaid for more than 60 days after notice, the Company may take lawful steps to recover the amount due, including a lien on the stored goods.
11. Vehicle Transport
Vehicles are inspected jointly at pickup and delivery, and a condition report is signed by both parties. Personal items left inside vehicles are carried at the Customer's risk. The Company is not responsible for pre-existing damage, mechanical faults or battery issues.
12. Website Use
Content on this website, including text, images and logos, belongs to the Company and may not be copied without permission. Prices shown on the website are indicative only and do not constitute an offer. The final price is the one given in the written quotation.
